Growing up on a beef and sheep farm near Llandovery, I developed an interest in agriculture, rural property and the businesses that operate within the sector. Becoming a rural surveyor allows me to stay connected to the industry while supporting farmers and landowners.

𝐇𝐨𝐰 𝐝𝐢𝐝 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐠𝐞𝐭 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐨 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐬 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐫?

Knowing I wanted a career in agriculture and the rural sector, I decided to study REALM at Harper Adams University. I was lucky enough to complete my year in industry at McCartneys, in the Brecon/Hay on Wye rural department, and was able to return to the firm following my graduation to pursue my career in land agency.

𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐩𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐢𝐛𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐭𝐢𝐞𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐞𝐬 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐢𝐫𝐦?

I currently work within the Brecon, Builth Wells and Hay on Wye rural department as a chartered surveyor and RICS registered valuer. I assist clients across Mid, West and South Wales on a number of different matters, such as property, land and farm sale agency, RICS Red Book Valuations, capital grant applications, annual BPS/SFS subsidy applications, estate and land management, farm dispersal and machinery sales, planning applications and so on!

Full time farming or an agronomist.
