Growing up on a family beef and sheep farm in Devon, I’ve always had a strong interest in agriculture and the countryside. Becoming a rural surveyor has allowed me to stay within the industry I’ve grown up around, whilst offering plenty of variety – no two days are ever the same!

My farming background and interest in agriculture naturally led me towards rural surveying. Whilst studying at Harper Adams University, I quickly realised just how varied the profession is and the opportunities it offers.

I’m based at Worcester Livestock Market and provide a wide range of rural services, including valuations, agricultural grant advice and applications, rural property sales and lettings, planning applications, and compensation and compulsory purchase work.

Definitely the variety. No two days are the same, and I enjoy being out and about, meeting different people and working across a wide range of farms and rural properties.

It can be a challenging industry at times, but it’s the people within it that make it so rewarding. I enjoy being able to work alongside and support those involved in agriculture and the wider rural sector.
