Commenting on the appointment, Phillip Blackman-Howard, Head of McCartneys Equine said:

Equine Sales 2026 – Building on the Success of 2025

Following an outstanding year of strong entries and exceptional buyer demand in 2025, we are delighted to announce our full calendar of Equine Sales for 2026. With consistently high-quality stock and strong trade throughout the year, our 2026 programme is set to be another exciting year.

Phillip Blackman-Howard, Head of McCartneys Equine said:

“Across our Brecon and Worcester markets, plus our Official Society Sales for the Welsh Pony & Cob Society and the Shetland Pony Stud-Book Society, we continue to provide trusted marketplaces for vendors and buyers from across the UK and beyond. In 2025 we saw excellent clearance rates, competitive bidding, and a steady rise in both vendor and purchaser numbers, clear signs that our horse and pony sales remain a leading fixture in the British equine calendar.  For 2026, we aim to build further on that success, offering monthly opportunities to trade quality horses and ponies, supported by experienced staff, strong advertising reach and consistent buyer demand.

With a strong reputation for well-managed, well-attended, and commercially effective sales, we look forward to welcoming both returning and new clients throughout 2026. Whether you’re entering stock or looking to purchase, our experienced teams at Brecon and Worcester are on hand to help ensure a smooth, successful sale day”.
