Welsh Pony & Cob Society Official Autumn Sale

Entries are now open for the 2026 Welsh Pony & Cob Society Official Autumn Sale, taking place at the Royal Welsh Showground, Llanelwedd, on Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 October 2026.

The Official Sale is one of the highlights of the Welsh Pony & Cob calendar, attracting vendors and purchasers from across the UK and overseas. With a quality selection of Welsh Mountain Ponies, Welsh Ponies, Welsh Pony of Cob Type, Welsh Cobs and Part-Breds on offer, it provides an excellent opportunity to buy and sell stock in a well-established marketplace.

Sale Format

The sale will run over two days:

Saturday: Section A, followed by Section B, then a mixed catalogue of Sections C & D.
Sunday: Section A, followed by Section B, then a mixed catalogue of Sections C & D.

Welsh Part-Breds will be sold within their relevant section across both days. All entries required to be sold under saddle will be offered on Saturday only.

Our first equine sale of the year at Worcester features an entry of approximately 70 horses and ponies. The catalogue offers a broad and varied selection, including youngstock, riding ponies, all-rounders and quality leisure horses, ensuring there is something to suit every buyer.

Appointment as Official Auctioneers for the British Spotted Pony Society

 

McCartneys is delighted to announce its appointment as Official Auctioneers for the British Spotted Pony Society.

This exciting collaboration will see a dedicated showcase of quality spotted ponies within the September Equine sale at Worcester, bringing together the Societyโ€™s breed expertise with McCartneysโ€™s long-established experience in equine auctioneering. The partnership aims to provide an excellent platform for vendors and purchasers alike, promoting the British Spotted Pony to a wide audience.

The sale on Saturday 27th September 2026 will feature a strong selection of spotted ponies, reflecting the breedโ€™s versatility, quality and growing popularity, and will be fully supported by the British Spotted Pony Society.

Commenting on the appointment, Phillip Blackman-Howard, Head of McCartneys Equine said:

We have an entry of 70 Horses & Ponies for our first equine sale of the year. As always, there is a wide and varied selection on offer, ranging from youngstock and riding ponies through to all-rounders and leisure horses, and we are confident there will be something to suit everyone.
