Tenbury Wells is a thriving market town on the River Teme surrounded by hop fields and cider apple orchards, reached by winding roads through rolling countryside and found in the most northern part of Worcestershire. The lifestyle calendar on offer in Tenbury Wells is unique and includes annual events of the Holly and Mistletoe sales held on the Tuesdays before Christmas. Tenbury Beer Festival is held in September and visitors are welcome to taste local ales and ciders. Tenbury Countryside Show in August featuring livestock, horticultural classes, home crafts, horses, funfair and exhibits. Regular farmers markets are held in town where you can sample local ales, cheeses, pickles and ciders. If you have plenty of space in your calendar left there are a further abundance of activities on offer including Tenbury Wells Amateur Boxing Club, Bridge Club, Pilates Classes, Keep fit Classes, Swimming lessons, Cubs, Brownies, Scouts and Girl Guides Clubs, Bingo, Pony Club shows and many more. Tenbury Town Band practise twice a week and offer a warm welcome to new members. They have been established since 1983 and provide music at many of our local fetes, open days and shows.
The Regal cinema is built in an art deco style as well as showing films it also has a stage for amateur dramatic productions performed by our local society and more recently Comedy nights and prominent entertainers from the film and TV industry have been providing live shows.

Tenbury has a variety of architectural styles ranging from 16th Century to new. St Mary’s Church is worth visiting found at the end of a winding path called Church Walk and there are several 17th century half-timbered buildings in the town, the most ornate is the Royal Oak, with the oldest probably being The Pembroke House. The Round Market was built for farmers’ wives to sell their cheese and milk on market days. Mineral Water wells that had been found in the Town from 1840 onwards brought about the building in 1862 of the now restored Tenbury Spa that has been described as “Chinese Gothic” and was designed by James Cranston of Birmingham.
Numerous public houses with accommodation and restaurants are spread along Teme Street and through the town giving an ample variety of choice to dine out or take away. An array of local shops run by independent traders including butchers, fish shop, hardware stores, gift shops, clothes shops and ceramics are to be located within the town. Also high street banks and a Post office can be found on Teme Street. There is a doctor’s surgery, dentists, vets practice, local garages and Tenbury Hospital is located on the outskirts of town.
There are many sports activities on offer including an 18 hole golf course at Cadmore Lodge, fishing in the River Teme, fishing Pools at Boraston, tennis, cricket, soccer, bowling clubs, rugby clubs and swimming in the local indoor pool and also having a fitness suite. There is also a town Library, Police Station, Fire Station, Tenbury Wells High School, Tenbury Wells Primary School and Burford Primary School. The major cities of Birmingham 36 miles and Worcester 23 miles away are supported by public transport links, Kidderminster is 18 miles, Hereford 25 miles, Ludlow 10 miles and the M5 motorway is 24 miles.

Jeff joined McCartneys in September 1996 after completing a 3-year course at The University of West England in Bristol, where he gained an Honours Degree in Valuation and Estate Management. Jeff is a registered valuer with the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors and deals with all property related matters. Having been given the task of developing estate agency work within Mid Wales Jeff started in Builth Wells and on the back of McCartneys’ success, he opened the Llandrindod Wells branch in 2001 and in 2007 extended the coverage to Rhayader. Jeff, formerly a keen sportsman who enjoys socialising, grew up on the family farm near Brecon where he now enjoys spending his spare time with his children Nia and Johnny-Gwyn.

Nick joined the McCartneys partnership in January 2012 following the merger with Phipps & Pritchard and oversees the running of Stourport-on-Severn Office located in the Wyre Forest district of North Worcestershire. He is a Member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS) and a RICS registered valuer. Nick is an expert property professional with a wealth of experience and knows Wyre Forest, plus the surrounding areas, inside out. Nick started his career in Estate Agency in 1998 at the age of 20 and began work with Stourbridge firm Town & Country. He then moved to Phipps & Pritchard in 2001 and then became a partner of the firm in January 2008. Nick is very well versed at dealing with a broad range of properties and has also developed a particular forte in the sale of new homes/building land. As testament to this he is proud to be the agent of choice for a good many of the local developers. Going hand in glove with this interest, the sale of properties and land by public auction is another key area of work where Nick excels not only through property knowledge but also by having the right contacts, such as specialist support consultants etc, to help deliver the very best advice for clients, with a view to maximising value and opportunity! Nick is a local family man, born in Kidderminster, where he still lives, with Wife, Tina, and Daughters, Paige and Mollie who keep him extremely busy. Joanna graduated from Harper Adams University College with a 2:1 Honours Degree in Rural Enterprise and Land Management in 2012, and is a qualified Member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), an RICS Registered Valuer and a Fellow of the Central Association of Agricultural Valuers (FAAV). She has also sat the exams to become a Member of the National Association of Estate Agents (MNAEA), the Association of Residential Letting and Property Management(MARLA) and the National Association of Valuers and Auctioneers (MNAVA). Having been back at McCartneys since March 2018, and became Associate Partner in January 2021, she is now solely in charge of the Craven Arms office undertaking all aspects of residential sales and lettings, and a wide range of rural professional work to include agency, landlord and tenant matters, agricultural licences, compulsory purchase and compensation, grant schemes, environmental stewardship and subsidies, valuations for a variety of purposes and general practice. Joanna is a local farmer’s daughter hailing from near Bishop’s Castle in rural south Shropshire. In her spare time, she enjoys walking with her beloved Labrador, Gin, traveling and socialising with friends.
